Garden Grove PD investigators have arrested a second suspect in connection to the stabbing death of a 20-year-old man.

Daniel Jones-Hoebel, a 19-year-old transient, was arrested June 10 for his role in the June 9 altercation that resulted in the fatal stabbing of Genaro Diaz, 20, of Santa Ana.

GGPD officers responded to the 12800 block of Haster Street regarding a report of a domestic dispute between a man and a woman.

When officers arrived they discovered Diaz with a stab wound to his chest.

Garden Grove Fire Department paramedics responded and treated the victim before he was transported to UCI Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Investigators learned that Antonio Esquivel, 21, of Garden Grove, was directly involved in the altercation and arrested him.

Both Esquivel and Jones-Hoebel were booked at Orange County Jail on suspicion of homicide.

The case has been referred to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office for review.

The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information should contact GGPD’s Homicide Unit at 714-741-5800.
