Four-year-old Sidney Fahrenbruch recently moved into a new home in Longmont, Colo. and was worried about unwanted monsters hurting her and her family. Concerned for her safety, Sydney took action at a community event with the Longmont Police Department and sought help from officer David Bonday.

“She met Officer Bonday and asked him if he would come search for monsters in our house,” stated Megan Fahrenbruch, Sidney’s mom.

Bonday visited the Fahrenbruch family’s home that weekend, and together he and Sidney inspected the residence from top to bottom.

“She just checked under the couch, but he wanted to make sure there weren’t any under the couch cushions,” Megan Fahrenbruch said. “And then they ended up going in the front yard to make sure there was no monster activity in the front yard.”

Luckily no monsters were sited and Sidney finished the search with a newfound confidence. “It’s just amazing the confidence he’s given her,” said Megan Fahrenbruch. “We’re truly grateful to live in a town where the police officers will pay a kid any attention.”

Sidney is an aspiring police officer and frequently visits the Longmont Police Department to thank them for their service with a plate of cookies.

Megan Fahrenbruch told FOX31 Denver, “She wants to grow up and be a cop and help other people find monsters as well.
