A man is in a coma after being assaulted in downtown Fullerton early Saturday morning, and police Thursday released a photo of the moments immediately following the assault as they asked the public’s help in finding two suspects.
The assault happened around 2 a.m. Aug. 23 in the 100 block of North Harbor Boulevard.
According to a Fullerton PD news release, three males in the downtown area were approached by two males who asked them why they were looking at a girlfriend of one of the two men.
A fight then erupted, according to police.
One of the three men was punched in the face and fell to the ground, striking his head. He was rushed to a local trauma center and is in a coma, the news release said. One of his friends suffered a dislocated shoulder and the other sustained cuts and bruises.
Suspect No. 1 was described as a male, white, about 6 feet tall and weighing 210 pounds with a muscular build. He has brown spiked hair, light brown eyes and was clean shaven, police say. He was wearing a white long-sleeve, collared, button-down shirt and has a deep voice.
Suspect No. 2 was described as a male, white or light-skinned Hispanic, 5 feet 8 inches and weighing 180 pounds. He is in his mid-20s and was clean shaven with short black hair. Police say this suspect has a distinct haircut with lines razored into the sides of his scalp. He was wearing a red T-shirt with unknown lettering.
Suspect No. 1 and suspect No. 2 were accompanied by a female, possibly suspect No. 1’s girlfriend, police said. She was described as a female white with blonde hair and wearing a white tank top.
The assault was captured on local surveillance cameras and investigators are asking for the public’s help in identifying both suspects and the female companion. It appears from surveillance camera footage that witnesses may have captured the incident on their cellular phones.
