Behind the Badge
The public and the media are invited to a panel discussion hosted by Anaheim Police Chief Raul Quezada on the legalization of marijuana.
The forum is free and takes place Oct. 4 in room 201 at the Anaheim Convention Center.
This discussion will be presented twice to accommodate various work schedules. The first session will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and the second from 6 to 8 p.m.
Proposition 64, The Adult Use of Marijuana Act, goes before voters on Nov. 8 and if approved, recreational marijuana use would be legal in California.
Moderated by Chief Ken Corney, President of the California Police Chiefs’ Association, the panel includes: Nate Bradley, the Executive Director of the California Cannabis Industry Association, Chief John Jackson of the Greenwood Village (CO) Police Department, Chief Justin Nordhorn of the Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board (WA), Attorney Robert Bovett of the Oregon Counties Legal Counsel (OR), Lauren Michaels, the Legislative Affairs Manager for the California Police Chiefs’ Association, and Ben Cort an addiction and recovery expert (CO).
When the forum concludes, there will be a question and answer period in which the panelists will take questions from audience members.
Attendees should enter Convention Center parking lots through the West Street entrance and follow directions from the parking attendants.
