An intensive investigation by the Orange County Human Trafficking Task Force (OCHTTF) has led to the arrest of a 38-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman suspected of human trafficking of a minor.
The investigation began after Costa Mesa police were contacted by a parent concerned that his runaway daughter may have been the victim of human trafficking.
On Oct. 18, after investigating the case around the clock for several days, investigators found the girl in the company of Gilberto Antonio Castillo of Mission Viejo.
Castillo was arrested on suspicion of human trafficking of a minor.
Investigators discovered that Castillo was connected to an online escort agency, Angelic Secrets, which recruited the juvenile when she responded to an Internet advertisement seeking young models.
Further investigation led to the arrest of Yolymar Ojeda-Gomez of Irvine on Oct. 26 on suspicion of human trafficking of a minor.
Castillo and Ojeda-Gomez were booked into the Orange County Jail.
Ojeda-Gomez was released on bond and Castillo remains in custody without bail.
The Anaheim Police Department is the lead agency on the OCHTTF. Other law enforcement agencies that have dedicated men and women to the task force include the Santa Ana PD, Irvine Police Department, Orange County Sheriff’s Department, FBI and California Highway Patrol.
The OCHTTF is asking anyone with information about Castillo, Ojeda-Gomez or the Angelic Secrets escort agency to contact Sgt. Juan Reveles of the Anaheim PD at 714-765-7974.
