The Anaheim PD arrested a 23-year-old homeless woman on suspicion of stabbing to death a woman in a park last Saturday, the APD said in a news release Friday, Nov. 18.
Jessica Ventura was arrested late Thursday on suspicion of first-degree murder for the homicide in Edison Park on Nov. 12.
She is being held in lieu of $1 million bail.
The stabbing happened around 9 p.m. at the park and the victim was found in the 1500 block of E. Romneya Drive.
Arriving officers found an unresponsive female suffering from at least one stab wound.
Officers and paramedics attempted lifesaving efforts and transported the victim to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The victim was identified as Lauren Duffy, 21.
The crime is not believed to be gang related and no other suspects are being sought.
