A 69-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of child abuse after bystanders witnessed him curse at his 9-month-old child and slap him, Huntington Beach police said.
Police at about 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 8, responded to reports of a man abusing his child in the 16600 block of Tunstall Lane.
Witnesses told police the man was walking the 9-month-old in a stroller.
The baby was crying, and the man became frustrated and started yelling profanities at the child, police said.
The suspect then pulled the child out of the stroller and slapped the baby.
Police found the man and arrested him on suspicion of child abuse.
The 9-month-old was taken to the hospital where he was examined, and later reunited with his mother, police said.
