Investigations by the Anaheim, Orange and Santa Ana police departments led to the conviction of an Anaheim man who was found guilty of sexually assaulting two women and robbing a third in a church parking lot.
An Orange County jury Wednesday, June 8 found Raymond Martin Boykin, 21, guilty of three counts of forced oral copulation, kidnapping, second-degree robbery and other charges for crimes committed over a seven-day period in 2013.
Boykin faces 60 years to life in prison at his scheduled sentencing on Aug. 25 at the West Justice Center in Westminster.
At about 3 a.m. on Dec. 7, 2013, Boykin kidnapped a woman by pulling her into a Weinerschnitzel parking lot as she walked along Chapman Avenue in Orange.
Orange PD detective collected forensic evidence from the scene.
Four days later, at 5:15 p.m., Boykin approached a 19-year-old woman in a parking structure at MainPlace Mall in Santa Ana.
He forced his way into the victim’s car, assaulted her with a weapon and sexually assaulted her. Then he stole her purse and fled.
At 6:15 a.m. on Dec. 13, 2013, Boykin approached a 42-year-old woman the parking lot of Sa Rang Community Church in Anaheim, forced his way into her car, sexually assaulted her and then stole her car and fled the scene.
At about 10:30 a.m., an Anaheim PD officer spotted Boykin driving the stolen car.
During the ensuing pursuit, Boykin crashed into another vehicle, fled on foot and hid in a nearby apartment.
He was located by Anaheim PD K9s and arrested.
Boykin was linked to the Orange incident through forensic evidence collected by the Orange PD.
Senior Deputy District Attorney Whitney Bokosky of the DA’s Sexual Assault Unit is prosecuting the case.
