In a first for the Anaheim PD, Walmart is partnering with the law enforcement agency for its annual Fill-A-Bus holiday event, officials announced Friday.
The public is invited to help Santa fill a bus full of toys this Saturday, Dec. 13, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Walmart, 440 N. Euclid, Anaheim. The toys will be distributed to Anaheim youth and charities.
“Having a large corporation such as Walmart partner with Anaheim Police Cops 4 Kids will allow our organization to assist even more families this holiday season,” said Officer Jacob Gallacher, who runs the PD’s Cops 4 Kids, Jr. Cadets and Policer Explorers programs.
“Toys collected at the Dec. 13 event will be distributed to those Anaheim families who are most in need as a part of our annual adopt-a-family gift delivery program,” Gallacher added.
The public can meet Santa and his friends at the event and are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy. Those who do will receive a free picture with Santa.
Anaheim PD officers will be on hand and attendees can take a tour of the jail bus.
