Bruno the police dog, Smokey Bear and Mayor Tom Tait made appearances at the city’s annual Fourth of July parade.
And while they celebrated with the community, Anaheim Fire & Rescue inspector Adrian Abel made sure the fireworks show at Peralta Park went off without a hitch.
“My job here is to ensure the safety of the shoot itself,” he said. “As soon as the show is over, we’ll go ahead and sweep the field. The shooter and his crew will go out and check for any unexploded rounds and then render those rounds safe.”
Abel said he enjoys the work.
“It is kind of fun,” he said. “I have to admit.”
