Fullerton PD on the lookout for ‘Big A Bandit,’ believe he will strike again

He’s hit up the same bank four times, prompting one of the clerks to say to him:

“You again?”

The Fullerton PD is on the lookout for a suspected serial bank robber so nicknamed because he favors Angels’ garb — red shirt and baseball cap — when committing his brazen criminal acts.

And police believe he will strike again at the same or another bank.

The Big A Bandit last struck July 2, when just before 4 p.m. he walked into the Bank of the West in the 3200 block of Yorba Linda Boulevard and, brandishing a gun, demanded cash. He fled the location with $1,300 in cash stuffed in a white envelope, police said.

The same man is suspected of robbing the same Bank of the West bank three times in 2013.

After those robberies, the bandit was mysteriously quiet for more than a year and a half before resuming his criminal ways, police and the FBI believe. He is also suspected last month of robbing a Comerica Bank in Anaheim and a Bank of the West in La Habra.

The suspect is described as in his 50s, between 5 feet 10 inches to six feet tall, and weighing around 200 pounds. He also is described as unshaven and having “scruffy” facial hair.

Fullerton police urged anyone who recognizes the suspect to call 911.
