A few hours after taking a report regarding two stolen electric bikes Tuesday, Fullerton police officers found one of the bikes while responding to a separate call.
They arrested a man on suspicion of receiving stolen property.
The officer found the bike while responding to a call about a man sleeping the backyard of a home in a residential neighborhood.
It turns out the man had permission to be there.
But while he was there, the officer noticed an electric bike matching the description of one of the stolen bikes.
“This was a great example of head’s up police work that resulted in stolen property being returned to its rightful owner,” said Sgt. Kathryn Hamel.
