Anaheim PD adds five new officers to ranks

The Anaheim PD has added five new officers to its ranks. The members of the Basic Academy Class 229 graduated Thursday, Jan. 25 from the Orange County Sheriff’s Department Regional Training Academy.

Officer Alexandria Gonzalez

Gonzalez was born in Riverside County. She graduated from Santiago High School and later attended Azusa Pacific University, earning her bachelor’s degree in business management.

Gonzalez was a full-time student and cashier prior to getting hired as a police officer trainee.

Her father, a retired Santa Ana Police Department sergeant, pinned on her badge.

Officer Brooke Phipps

Phipps was born in Riverside County. She graduated from Corona High School and later attended California State University, Fresno where she earned her bachelor’s degree in communication.

Phipps was an account manager prior to getting hired as a police officer trainee for the Anaheim PD.

Officer Hunter Richardson

Richardson was born in Orange County. After graduating from Troy High School, he earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice with a minor in human communication studies from Cal State Fullerton.

Richardson worked for the Cal State Fullerton Police Department as a community service officer prior to getting hired as an APD police officer trainee.

Officer Jordan Greenwood

Greenwood was born in Orange County. After graduating from Orange Lutheran High School, he earned his bachelor’s degree in history from Dartmouth College.

Greenwood worked for Rancho Christian School as a security guard prior to getting hired as a police officer trainee.

Officer Tyler Cotter

Cotter was born in Los Angeles County. He graduated from Canyon High School and later attended Irvine Valley College, where he earned his associate’s degree in political science. Cotter attends Cal State Fullerton and is working toward his bachelor’s degree.

In 2016, Cotter began his law enforcement career as a cadet with the Anaheim Police Department, where he was assigned to the front counter. He later was hired as a police officer trainee.

His father pinned on his badge.
