Police on Saturday identified a married couple suspected of dying by gunshot in a suspected murder-suicide as Natalie Rangel-Diaz and John Thomas Diaz, both 32.
Maternal grandparents who came to the home in the 700 block of South Morningside Drive around 8:30 a.m. Friday to watch their grandchild discovered the bodies and found the couple’s unharmed 7-month-old daughter in an upstairs bedroom, police said.
A handgun was found by the bodies on the first floor of the home, police said. Both appeared to have suffered a gunshot wound. Anaheim Fire & Rescue Paramedics responded and pronounced both of the victims dead.
The investigation into how the murder-suicide took place is ongoing and no other suspects are being sought.
The infant was taken into protective custody pending follow-up by County of Orange Social Services.
