Anaheim Police Department homicide detectives are asking for help finding Anaheim resident Humberto Rodriguez-Martinez, a suspect in the stabbing death of his ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend.

Officials have issued an arrest warrant for Rodriguez-Martinez, 30, who police say was jealous of his ex-girlfriend’s boyfriend, Los Angeles resident Daniel Reyes, 32.

Rodriguez-Martinez and his friend Adan Zapot-Leyva attacked Reyes outside his girlfriend’s Anaheim home at Santa Ana Street and Helena Street, according to the Anaheim Police Department. Reyes was stabbed at least once and was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said. The officers had responded to a call of people fighting in the street shortly after 5 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 19.

Police arrested Zapot-Leyva on Saturday, Oct. 21. He has been charged with murder and is being held at Orange County Jail on $1,000,000 bail.

Exactly a week after the murder, Rodriguez-Martinez’s tan Toyota Corolla was found in San Diego, and officials believe he is in the San Diego area.

A reward up to $1,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest and conviction.

Rodriguez-Martinez is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information regarding Rodriguez-Martinez or the crime is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 855-TIP-OCCS or www.occrimestoppers.org
