The Anaheim PD has arrested a retired teacher from Sycamore Junior High School on suspicion of child molestation and possession of child pornography, and believes there may be more victims than the two police already have identified.
David Bruce, 65, of unincorporated Anaheim, was arrested Tuesday, Sept. 8, during the service of a search warrant at his home, the APD said in a news release. Officials with the Anaheim Unified High School District contacted the APD within the past month stating someone had told them they had concerns about Bruce, which prompted the investigation, Sgt. Daron Wyatt said.
Bruce was booked at the Anaheim Temporary Detention Facility on two counts of child molestation and one count of possession of child pornography. He remains out of custody after posting $100,000 bail.
The two males police say were victimized by Bruce now are adults and the crimes occurred when they were students at Sycamore Junior High School.
Bruce was a drama teacher at Sycamore Junior High School from October 1981 until his retirement in 2010 but he continued as a substitute teacher through 2013.
Anyone with information regarding this case or possible additional victims are asked to call Anaheim Police Detective Cashell at (714) 765-1972 or Crime Stoppers at (855) TIP-OCCS or by email to www.occrimestoppers.org
