For three months, Anaheim PD detectives looked into a residential burglary that occurred in January in Anaheim Hills.
Now they’ve arrested a suspect and have a room full of stolen property from a number of other burglaries including jewelry, coins, cameras and artwork.
Jonas McClanahan, 33, of Whittier was arrested Tuesday, April 5 and booked for possession of stolen property in connection with the Anaheim Hills burglary on Jan. 14, 2016. The home, in the area of Santa Ana Canyon Road and Imperial Highway, was burglarized to the tune of nearly $150,000, according to an APD news release.
The investigation into the Jan. 14 residential burglary led Anaheim PD Burglary/Auto Theft detectives to Roseville, outside of Sacramento, where a search warrant was served March 15. The subsequent search led to the recovery of a number of items stolen from the Anaheim Hills burglary, according to the news release.
The investigation progressed and early Tuesday morning detectives from the Burglary/Auto Theft Detail, along with investigators from the APD Crime Task Force, served another search warrant at a home located at 12938 Helmer Drive in Whittier.
A significant amount of suspected stolen property was recovered during a search of the home, including tens of thousands of dollars of property that already has been identified as having been stolen during the Anaheim Hills burglary.
Anyone who believes they recognize any of the recovered property as stolen, or believes their property is among the items recovered, is encouraged to contact the law enforcement agency that took the original report and ask the handling detective or detectives to contact the Anaheim Police Department.
