A police horse was assaulted during a rowdy campus celebration early Tuesday morning after Villanova claimed its first national basketball championship since 1985.
The Villanova campus erupted in celebration after the jaw-dropping final minutes of the Monday night NCAA championship game, but several students took the revelry a little too far, USA Today reported.
A student was arrested for misdemeanor assault on a police animal, but Radnor Township police said they were still investigating the incident and did not have more detail. The student is expected to be arraigned later Tuesday.
Another student was arrested for disorderly conduct and emergency responders tended to about 25 injured students, but police said nobody was critically hurt, USA Today reported.
