The Cypress Police Department will welcome a new support services supervisor next month.
Police Chief Jackie Gomez-Whiteley announced on Wednesday the department hired Andrew D. Zelinko to fill the position.
Zelinko’s job will include overseeing the police records department, court liaison and property and evidence, among other responsibilities.
He will also be tasked with coordinating repairs and maintenance of the department’s equipment and facilities, police officials said.
For the last 12 years, Zelinko worked at the Irvine Police Department as a public safety assistant helping with press information officer duties.
Zelinko has a bachelor’s degree in organizational leadership from Chapman University and a master’s degree in business administration from Brandman University.
Zelinko will start Oct. 2.
