The Garden Grove PD arrested an 18-year-old Santa Ana man and a minor on suspicion of robbing a 7-Eleven and a bakery, the GGPD said in a news release Friday.
The incidents occurred at 5:11 a.m. Dec. 29, at Yam Hang Bakery, 9732 Garden Grove Blvd., and at 5:24 a.m. at the 7-11 at 12752 Brookhurst St.
Police arrested Jesse Alexander Becerra, of Santa Ana, and the unnamed minor, 17, of Santa Ana.
At 5:11 a.m., a bakery employee told GGPD officers a suspect entered the business and displayed a handgun and demanded money. The victim feared for her life and gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash.
The suspect fled from the business and was not immediately located.
At 5:24 a.m., the GGPD received a robbery alarm activation from the 7-11, which is located near the bakery.
Two suspects entered the convenience store and demanded money and threatened to shoot the clerks.
The suspects took cash and ran away.
Officers arrived almost immediately and were directed by a 7-11 clerk to the location where the suspects were last seen.
GGPD officers located the two suspects across the street from the business and detained them.
The suspects were positively identified in both robberies and evidence linking them to the crimes was located, the news release said.
GGPD detectives will be conducting further follow-up to determine if the suspects are responsible for any other crimes.
Becerra was booked at Orange County Jail and the minor was sent to O.C. Juvenile Hall.
