Garden Grove PD seeks man who held up bank in grocery store

A man walked up to a teller in a grocery store in Garden Grove mid-morning March 5 and made off with some cash and ran off.

The Garden Grove PD is looking for the suspect, who walked into a US Bank inside a Vons at 11861 Valley View St. around 10:45 a.m. and got a shopping cart, according to witnesses.

A few minutes later, the suspect made contact with a teller and presented a demand note, the GGPD said in a news release. The teller gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect was last seen running eastbound toward Valley View Street.

There were numerous customers and shoppers in the parking lot at the time of the robbery, according to the GGPD.

No vehicle was seen.

The suspect is described as between 30 and 40 years old, 6 feet 1 inch, 150 to 170 pounds, with brown hair and a small goatee. He was wearing a blue-collared shirt, blue jeans and sunglasses.
