The Garden Grove PD is seeking witnesses to a collision Thursday night that claimed the life of a woman crossing the street outside of a marked crosswalk.
The Dec. 15 collision occurred at 7:07 p.m. on Haster Street just south of Lampson Avenue.
A calling party reported that there had been an injury traffic accident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.
GGPD officers and members of the Garden Grove Fire Department arrived at the accident scene and found the collision had occurred in the No. 2 lane of northbound Haster Street just south of Lampson Avenue.
The investigation found that a female pedestrian was crossing eastbound across Haster Street in an area not marked as a crosswalk. She was struck by a white Honda Accord driven by a male.
The female suffered what appeared to be life-threatening injuries and was provided medical aid by the Garden Grove Fire Department prior to being taken to UCI Medical Center for treatment.
She died at the hospital. Her identity has yet to be released.
The driver of the Honda Accord remained at the scene and cooperated with traffic investigators. It does not appear at this time that the driver was under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
The investigation is ongoing.
