The Garden Grove PD is seeking witnesses to a fatal traffic accident Tuesday night involving a pedestrian who appeared to have crossed a street in an area not marked by a crosswalk.
The accident happened at 6:49 p.m. Nov. 1 on Brookhurst Street south of Bixby Avenue, the GGPD said in a news release Wednesday.
An investigation found that a 37-year-old male was hit in the No. 3 lane of northbound Brookhurst Street by a silver 1999 Isuzu Trooper 4-door driven by a 26-year-old male.
The male pedestrian was provided medical aid by the Garden Grove Fire Department but was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Isuzu remained at the scene and cooperated with traffic investigators. It does not appear at this time that alcohol or drugs were involved with the driver of the Isuzu, the news release said.
The investigation is ongoing.
Any witnesses that may have seen the accident are asked to contact the Garden Grove Police Department’s Traffic Accident Investigation Unit at 714-741-5704.
