Last week, a little boy from Garden Grove showed up in a police uniform for his uncle’s swearing-in ceremony at the Banning Police Department.
“He knows the police are the good guys and he wants nothing more than to be just like you,” wrote his aunt, Barbara Carlson-Castro, who shared the photo with BehindTheBadgeOC.com on Sunday. “I thought I’d share these photos and let you know that there is still a little boy out there that considers you his hero.”
Chief of Police Alex Diaz invited the boy, Justin Carlson, 3, to join his uncle, Robert Castro – as well as new officers William Auer, Dana Mikles, Daniel Arenas – as they took their oath of office on April 14.
“It was a great moment and I’m sure our officers and the youngster will never forget,” Diaz said.
