A man in his 20s died early Thursday morning after his Toyota pick-up truck slammed into a fire hydrant before striking a power pole in the 200 block of East Imperial Highway, shutting off power to some businesses and forcing a lane closure.
The identity of the driver, who was pronounced dead at the scene following the 2:42 a.m. crash, has yet to be determined, the Fullerton PD said in a news release.
The Orange County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene and is currently working to identify the driver. The investigation remains ongoing.
A traffic Sig-Alert will remain in effect through late Thursday morning, and Edison is on the scene working to restore power to affected businesses.
