Fullerton police defused a potentially dangerous situation Friday when they arrested a man with a handgun in his pocket shortly after he had been fired from his job.
Police arrested the man on suspicion of several felonies at the business in the 1400 block of S. Acacia.
The action began to unfold about 10:30 a.m. when the manager asked the man to submit to a drug test. The man had been making bizarre comments to himself and others.
When the man refused, the manager fired him and asked him to leave – then called police.
In the parking lot, officers found a .25-caliber handgun in man’s pocket. He was also in possession of methamphetamine, officials said.
“Our officers did a great job of dealing with a potential threat,” said Sgt. Kathyrn Hamel.
