Orange County team to play for national public safety football title

Last weekend, Orange County Lawmen, Orange County’s semi-pro football team, comprised of law-enforcement and other first responder personnel, travelled to Austin, Texas to take on the Central Texas Wolf Pack.  At stake for both teams was a spot in the Division II championship game, and fans were treated to a defensive battle that pitted the scrappy Lawmen against a squad of towering Texans.

The Lawmen allowed an early field goal followed by a rumbling pick-six. But they managed to hold on and eke out a 12-10 win thanks to a pair of touchdown tosses by Orange County Sheriff’s Deputy and Quarterback Greg Fisher to U.S. Customs and Border Protection Officer/Wide Receiver Angel Munoz.

With the win, the Orange County Lawmen will make their first ever appearance in the NPSFL championship game to be held June 20, 2015.  The Lawmen’s opponent and the location of the championship game has yet to be determined so stay tuned for more details or follow the Lawmen on Facebook for updates.
