The night before Thanksgiving is among the biggest party nights of the year.
Bars will be busy and law enforcement will be out in force.
The Orange County Ride Smart Coalition, which represents a partnership between rideshare giant Lyft, the Fullerton Police Department, the Office of Traffic Safety and other entities, wants to make sure everyone makes it to their holiday destinations safely.
The Ride Smart Coalition is offering $5 off Lyft rides anywhere in Orange County for those who enter the code “GIVETHANKSOC” into the Lyft app any time between 8 p.m. Nov. 27 and 4 a.m. Nov. 28.
“With the significant number of bars in the downtown Fullerton area and the prevalence of drinking during the holiday season, it’s incredibly important that those who are going to go out and celebrate do so responsibly,” said Sgt. Jon Radus, spokesman for the Fullerton Police Department. “We’ve found that ridesharing options such as Lyft are a great option during the holiday season and anytime in order for people to go out and enjoy themselves responsibly.”
Other partners in the campaign include the Foundation for Advancing Alcohol Responsibility, the Honda Center, Anaheim Ducks, Recording Artists Against Drunk Driving (RADD), The Observatory, and OC Brewers Guild.
