The Santa Ana Police Department early Thursday made an arrest following an investigation that revealed private images and videos he had distributed online featuring ex-girlfriends.

Dillon Nguyen, 23, of Westminster was arrested and booked into Santa Ana Jail for violations including distributing child pornography, possession and control of child pornography and distributing intimate photos of another, the Santa Ana Police Department stated.

A Santa Ana Police Civilian Investigator in Special Investigations learned about the images being distributing online after break-ups with Nguyen.

An investigation revealed numerous online social media accounts that were used to share revenge porn images and videos, as well as disparaging and identifying information about Nguyen’s ex-girlfriends, including a 16-year-old girl. The images and videos were posted hundreds of times, the department stated.

The Santa Ana Police Department executed 16 online search warrants during the investigation. A search warrant at Nguyen’s home in Westminster resulted in evidence related to uploading and distributing more than 500 pornographic images from multiple electronics seized by police, the department stated.

Revenge porn is when a person intentionally distributes intimate images or videos of a person without their consent.

“Posting revenge porn is damaging to the reputation of the victims, and they are often re-victimized because they live with the fear of being sought out, stalked, and harassed by strangers seeking them out from the online postings. The Santa Ana Police Department takes these crimes seriously and will seek to prosecute suspects engaged in this activity to the fullest extent of the law,” the department wrote in a press release.

The Santa Ana Police Department is a partner in the Los Angeles Regional Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce.
