A family argument turned into a tense standoff in the early morning hours of Saturday that included two shotgun blasts and a man barricading himself inside of his apartment for about six hours before finally surrending to police.
Officers were called to the 900 block of North Placentia Avenue in regards to a verbal argument between a husband and wife at about 12:30 a.m. Saturday.
The wife left with the couple’s small children.
Officers were outside the apartment when they heard two shotgun blasts fired inside the apartment. They made contact with the husband moments later via phone but he refused to come out, police said.
Throughout the standoff, he was contacted several times and asked to come out by police but refused. He finally walked out of the apartment at about 6:30 a.m. and gave up without incident and was taken into custody by Fullerton police officers.
