Behind the Badge
Andrew Ok and Bradley Schultz are the newest officers to join the Tustin Police Department.
Both graduated, along with scores of other recruits from numerous agencies, on Thursday, Jan. 25 at the Orange County Sheriff’s Department Regional Training Academy.
Ok and Schultz are members of the Class of 229th Basic Academy.

The TPD will hold a swearing-in and welcoming ceremony for the two new officers, along with several other new employees, on Feb. 15.
The additions of Ok and Schultz to the TPD brings the agency’s total sworn personnel to 94, two short of the 96 sworn positions for which the TPD is authorized.
Five TPD recruits currently are attending the Criminal Justice Training Center at Golden West College, Lt. Bob Wright said.

Ok was born in South Korea and grew up in Oahu. He graduated from Fairfax High School in 2013. He attended UC Irvine, where he earned bachelor’s degrees in criminology, law and society as well as psychology and social behavior.
Ok began his career at the TPD as a cadet in 2016.
His brother, Adrian, a deputy sheriff for the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department, pinned on his badge at the Jan. 25 ceremony.

Schultz was born in Santa Monica and grew up in San Juan Capistrano. He graduated from Valley High School in 2010. He attended Northeastern University in Boston and earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice.
The Tustin PD hired Schultz as a police recruit in July 2017.
His girlfriend, Yvette, and his parents, Neal and Kim, pinned on his badge.
