Twenty-one drivers were ticketed and six received warnings in an enforcement campaign by Westminster police to target and prevent distracted driving.
Police from 1-7 p.m. Saturday held a traffic enforcement operation on Beach Boulevard between Trask and McFadden avenues.
Officers were looking for cell-phone related violations.
The Westminster Police Department received a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety for nearly $165,000 for this operation and other special enforcement programs.
The grant is expected to cover a year of programs and public awareness events that will help reduce traffic-related deaths and injuries.
