A robber followed a woman into her garage Sunday morning, stole her purse and then punched her in the face after she began honking her horn, police said.
The action began to unfold after midnight after the woman returned home to the 1900 block of Berkshire from dinner. Her garage wouldn’t close.
She pulled her car forward, thinking it was blocking the signal for the garage door opener. That’s when a heavy-set man walked into the garage, reached into her car and stole her purse.
The woman began honking her horn.
“The suspect returned, wrapped his arm around the victim’s neck and punched her in the face two to three times,” said Sgt. Jeff Stuart.
She suffered minor injuries.
