The Garden Grove PD held a ceremony earlier this month for graduates of its Citizen Academy.

The 16 members of the class of 2015 learned about such things as arrest laws, patrol procedures, crime analysis and much more.

The GGPD conducted its first Citizen Academy in 2006 and hosts an annual Citizen Academy that runs from mid-September to mid-December.

The academy is designed to teach Garden Grove residents about the philosophy, policies and guiding principals of law enforcement and ethical conduct governing police services.

The academy also enables members of the GGPD to become more aware of the feelings and concerns of the city’s residents and build positive and interactive relationships between citizens and police personnel.
