A man is in custody today and facing multiple charges after reportedly leading La Habra police on a multi-city chase Friday night that resulted in two crashes and a vehicle theft.
Gerald Terveer is alleged to have been driving a truck recklessly first through the streets of Brea and then in the area of Euclid and Rosecrest in La Habra, even crossing into opposite lanes of traffic. When La Habra officers responded, they found Terveer had crashed into one car and then stole that vehicle and sped away again, according to police reports.
Officers reportedly located him near the intersection of Cypress and Imperial and attempted to stop him. He refused to pull over and went on a lengthy pursuit through multiple North Orange County cities before crashing again in Yorba Linda, reports say.
Officers found a loaded firearm and narcotics when they searched the truck he was originally driving, police reports said.
