Anaheim PD postings on social media regarding an at-large suspect in a fatal hit-and-run collision helped lead to the arrest of a man Tuesday, May 2, following a tip from the public, the APD said in a news release Thursday.

Kelven Ta, 47, is believed to have fled the scene around 9:48 p.m. on Saturday, April 28 on Brookhurst Street south of Ball Road, where police found the body of a 54-year-old male pedestrian.

Evidence suggested the deceased man had been struck by a car, possibly a silver Honda or Acura, but the driver and vehicle had fled the scene, the APD said in a news release.

APD sought the public’s help through social media and the media in looking for a silver vehicle missing the driver’s side mirror, which led to the discovery of Ta’s 2002 silver Acura 3.2 TLS parked in the 100 block of W. Juno Avenue.

Ta has been booked for felony hit and run causing injury or death.

He was booked at the Anaheim Detention Facility and was released on the statutorily imposed bond of $100,000 pending court proceedings, according to the APD news release, issued Thursday, May 3.
