Anaheim Police have arrested two men on suspicion of fatally shooting a man Wednesday evening in Twila Reid Park.
Information from numerous witnesses helped lead to the arrests of Adam Jay Stone, 28, of Anaheim and Ransom Lee Cook, 24, of Westminster, the Anaheim PD said in a news release early Thursday.
Police believe the victim, Alexander Raymond McMoore, 29, of Anaheim, was the intended target but still are investigating a motive.
Police responded to reports of a shooting at Twila Reid Park, 3100 W. Orange Ave., at 4:50 p.m. Wednesday and found a male victim near the basketball courts on the north side of the park suffering from at least one gunshot wound to his upper body.
Anaheim Fire & Rescue paramedics transported the victim, later identified as McMoore, to UCI Medical Center, where he died.
Initial information indicated the suspects may have fled the scene in a red BMW. Anaheim PD homicide detectives located a red BMW they believe is related to the case and have seized it as evidence.
No other suspects are being sought at this time, according to the news release.
Stone and Cook were booked late Wednesday night at the Anaheim PD’s Temporary Detention Facility and are being held in lieu of $1 million bail.
