Anaheim Police have arrested a female transient suspected of theft stemming from an Airbnb apartment rental.
Julianne Marie Lavin, 27, was arrested in Santa Ana late Tuesday, Aug. 30 on suspicion of a grand theft that occurred in the 1800 block of State College Boulevard in July.
Police said Lavin and an unidentified male rented an apartment through an Airbnb application.
Upon returning to the apartment, the owner discovered that all the furnishings, including appliances and wall decorations, had been stolen.
Investigators had been searching for Lavin since Aug. 9, when she was identified from video footage taken from a surveillance camera that was released to the media and posted on APD’s social media sites.
The video prompted several Crime Stoppers tips identifying Lavin.
Her male companion is still unidentified and the stolen property has not been recovered.
Lavin was booked at the Anaheim Detention Facility for grand theft and embezzlement with bail set at $20,000.
