Anaheim police officers arrested a 29-year-old transient on Monday, Jan. 21, who is suspected of being involved in commercial burglary and vandalism.

The man was found in a local bank trying to open offices, a drawer, and the vault.

Officers responded to a call around 2 p.m. from an employee of the Bank of America at 1818 South Euclid Street who was monitoring a live video feed from inside the closed bank and saw the man inside the building.

When officers arrived, they noticed the bank’s front door had been forced open. There, they found and arrested Luis Fernando Bautista.

Because Bautista left the door open, several customers had entered the bank but were able to leave safely and no one was injured.

Burglary detectives are launching a follow-up investigation and are asking anyone who may have come inside the bank on Monday afternoon for details about the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to call 714-765-1900 or contact Crime Stoppers at 855-TIP-OCCS or www.occrimestoppers.org.
