Anaheim PD homicide detectives have released video from a body-dump homicide, with hopes of identifying the suspects and vehicle involved.

On the morning of Jan. 16, 2017, the Anaheim PD was called to the 1600 block of South Sinclair Street regarding a body near a Dumpster.

The body of Brian Alfredo Mendez, 26, of Anaheim, was discovered near a closed commercial building. He had been shot multiple times.

Video from the surrounding area showed a light-colored Chevrolet SUV occupied by at least two suspects believed to have dumped Mendez’ body just before midnight on Jan. 15.

Interviews with Mendez’ friends and family revealed he was associated with the infamous Mexican Mafia prison gang.

Detectives are investigating the possibility of the victim’s gang affiliation being a contributing factor in the homicide.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 855-TIP-OCCS (855- 847-6227) or at occrimestoppers.org. A reward up to $1,000 may be paid for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects.
