Beer thief waves machete at 7-11 clerk, police say

A man who allegedly stole beer from a Fullerton convenience store Saturday waved a machete at a clerk who chased him out of the store, police said.

The man was later arrested on suspicion of driving a stolen car and robbery after Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputies pulled him over in a separate incident.

The action began to unfold in the 2200 block of West Commonwealth Avenue.

When the clerk chased the man, the suspect “pulled a machete from behind his driver’s seat and began waving it at the clerk in a threatening manner,” a police official said.
