BT Buzz: Police cruiser set on fire, Black Lives Matter note left at scene

Police believe a patrol cruiser parked in front of a mosque intentionally was set on fire early Sunday morning in Daytona Beach.

The car was immediately engulfed, most likely by a Molotov cocktail, leading officials to believe arson was committed, the Washington Post reported.

A note referencing the Black Lives Matter movement was found with the car. It read:  “BLACK LIVES MATTER A. Sterling P. Castile” and an expletive reference to police.

As requested by the Islamic Center, the car had been stationed in front of the mosque periodically since the Orlando nightclub shooting last month to deter any anti-Islamic actions.

Nobody was injured and police are actively searching surveillance videos from the area.
