Riverdale Sgt. Greg Bogert at about 11:30 a.m. on Monday, April 25, responded to reports of a man walking in and out of traffic on Route 287 North, according the Riverdale Police Department’s Facebook page.

When Bogert arrived, he saw the man walking in the highway and tried to calm him down, but the man took off running toward the concrete barrier and tried to jump over.

The sergeant was able to grab the man just in time.

The police department’s video was posted to their Facebook page and shared by several local media outlets, including NJ.com.
