BTBuzz: Texas officer helps wounded hawk

Officer David Tatom from the Carrollton Police Department was driving when he noticed a hawk in the middle of the road.

Tatom realized the hawk was injured and called animal control, which said its officers couldn’t be at the site for another 30 minutes.

When the hawk wouldn’t move from the side of the road, Tatom wrapped the hawk in a towel and put the bird in his car away from harm.

The department shared Tatom’s dashcam video to its Facebook page.

The hawk was taken to the Blackland Prairie Raptor Center in Allen, Texas, where it is expected to make a full recovery.
