Trauma Surgeon Kenji Inaba takes his responsibility to safeguard lives seriously. After having completed 8 years of undergraduate studies and medical school and medical residency, Dr. Inaba decided felt that he was being called to protect and serve the Los Angeles Community even more – as a reserve LAPD officer.
Inaba completed all of the required course work and physical preparation of a career officer; however, he only works for the LAPD one day a week.
Inaba commented on what life is like as a reserve officer and said, ““You really can’t distinguish me from any other LAPD officer working that day,” he said. “We handle calls just like any other car.”
The holidays are a time for family, fun, and good food; however, much like the rest of the year, it’s important to secure your personal belongings and property.
Operation Christmas Presence was designed to enhance police presence in areas that tend to be more popular during the holidays. According to the Fresno Bee, “Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer said the goal is to make holiday shoppers feel more secure and to prevent crimes of opportunity by thieves and auto burglars.”
Truckee Police, in California, saved a bear cub from a trash dumpster last week.
Local residents could hear an animal in the trash dumpster and called the authorities. The police then arrived and helped the bear cub escape. A video recorded by local on lookers shows the bear cub darting off right after the officer helps him escape.
