The global police dance-off hit Southern California today when the LAPD posted a video on YouTube of officers dancing at Dodger Stadium, on top of buildings and with residents at several locations throughout the city.
“This is for law enforcement, our families and communities and families around the world,” says one officer in the video. “Sheriffs, it’s on you. I’m calling you out.”
Police in New Zealand sparked the trend earlier this month, when their version went viral.
“We catch people on the run every day, this was a new #runningmanchallenge for our team,” read the post on the New Zealand Police Recruitment account.
LAPD took it to a new level in a sharply edited video featuring more than a dozen officers – and residents – dancing to the song “My Boo.”
