Fullerton PD asking for public’s help to solve case of fatal stabbing of man at street race

Fullerton Police are seeking the public’s help in solving the fatal stabbing of a 19-year-old man that occurred late Friday or early Saturday after an illegal street race in Fullerton.

At 2:20 a.m. Saturday, May 28, officers responded to the emergency room of a local hospital regarding the victim of a stabbing. The victim has been identified as Brian Jefferson Sanchez of Anaheim.

Police believe Sanchez’s death is connected to an organized car club event called an industry party, which was held in Anaheim.

The partygoers moved to Fullerton and Sanchez was stabbed during an altercation with an unknown male during a street race in the 1400 block of Manhattan Avenue, police said.

After the stabbing, partygoers took the victim to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

“We are asking the public to come forward as we need assistance in solving this case,” Sgt. Kathryn Hamel said.
