Garden Grove PD seeks public’s help as it probes 7th gang-related shooting of the year

Garden Grove ended January with its seventh gang-related shooting of 2016, and police once again are reaching out to the public for information and possible eyewitnesses.

In a news release late Monday, Feb. 1, the GGPD said the latest shooting occurred at Belfast Street and Donegal Avenue at 8:16 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 31.

Officers from the GGPD’s Patrol and the Gang Suppression Unit arrived and found evidence of a shooting, according to the news release.

Through statements obtained during the investigation, officers determined that the shooting may have been the result of a fight that took place earlier in the evening in the area of 13211 Brookhurst Street.

No other information was available.
