Garden Grove Police seek three suspects who assaulted man after tampering with his car


A man was assaulted by three suspects Thursday night after he confronted them as they were possibly tampering with his car.

The assault occurred around 10:50 p.m. April 5 in the area of Brookhurst Street and Central Avenue. The victim was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspects, who are at large, are described as three males, possibly Hispanic, 18-25 years old, all wearing plaid jackets with hoods.

Garden Grove PD officers were sent to the area regarding a fight. The victim told officers that after he confronted the suspects, they ran off.

The victim said he ran after them but during the chase, the suspects stopped and began assaulting him in the upper torso before running away.

At one point, the victim was struck with a metal pole in the upper torso.

Several witnesses observed the assault and one witness had cell phone video of the incident that the witness turned over to officers.

No vehicle was seen.
