A nearly year-old homicide case that has gone cold has prompted the Garden Grove PD to ask the public for possible leads.

At 12:23 a.m. on July 28, 2013, Raul Jose Alcala, 20, was at a party in the 12400 Block of Darnell Street, in the area of Harbor Boulevard and Lampson Avenue, when a large fight erupted.

When officers arrived at the house, they found Alcala in the backyard, bleeding from several stab wounds to the torso area.

Alcala was transported to UCI Medical Center, where he died.

More than 100 people were at the party, but the Garden Grove PD has exhausted all leads, Lt. Ben Stauffer said.

“We’re seeking the public’s help in identifying any additional witnesses or information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the suspect,” Stauffer said.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man with a large build.

Anyone who was at the party or has additional information regarding the murder of Alcala is asked to call Inv. Farley at the Garden Grove PD at 714-741-5877.

Anyone who wants to provide information anonymously can call the Orange County Crime Stoppers network at 1-855-TIP-OCCS (1-855-847-6227) or visit http://occrimestoppers.org/how-to-tip/
